Our Deacon

Dcn. Tami Jo Gardner Roessler
Deacon

My name is Tami Jo Gardner Roessler and I am the new deacon at Holy Trinity in Vicksburg. I was in the Deacon Formation Program through the Diocese of Albany and was ordained on June 4, 2023.

My background has been grounded in thehelping professions. I was an LPN who work in long term geriatric care and mental health. Later on, I attended the University of Vermont and received a Bachelor of Social Work degree. I continued to work in the area of mental health services working with developmentally delayed adults until returning againg to my passion in geriatric care.

I am a former military spouse who enjoyed many adventures while traveling with our family throughout the world. I was an active participant in Protestant Women of the Chapel on various Air Force Bases, serving on the local board twice, once as Secretary and once as Chaplain.

I was also very active in our church community life while being a military wife. In earlier years, I worked in pastoral ministry, as a worship leader in nursing homes, and as a lay eucharistic minister.

In 2017, I accompanied my husband, Fr. Rick+ to seminary at Nashotah House. I was able to attend some seminary classes during our time there as well as working at the campus library. I also serviced as President of the Women of Nashotah House organization.

Fr. Rick+ and I recently celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary. We have to grown daughters. Allyson works in marketing and is married to her college sweetheart Wayne. They live in Monroe, LA. Megan is a social worker and currently resides in Vicksburg, MS.
