The Dorothy Kenna Brasfield Conservatory of the Fine Arts
Since 2006, the Conservatory of the Fine Arts has provided quality instruction in music, theater, and visual arts. Private lessons are tailored to the experience and goals of the student. Whether you are a total beginner or professional, we want to help you make music!
The Conservatory operates out of the historic Cashman Building on the corner of South and Cherry.
In addition to private music lessons, we host the Holy Trinity Chancel Choir, the Vicksburg Orchestral Society, and a group art class.

Chorister Camp 2024
Chorister Camp is a one-week choral intensive for children and youth. Choristers, ages 9-17 will actively learn musical skills, explore music literacy, history, and theory, while refining vocal technique alongside peers.
All children and youth are welcome to apply! The only requirements are a love for music and enthusiasm to learn.
Schedule for 9-ll year olds: Monday-Friday 9am to 12pm
Schedule for 12-17 year olds: Monday-Friday 1pm to 4pm
The culminating event will be a Choral Evensong sung by the Choristers on Sunday at 6pm in the Church of the Holy Trinity. They will be led by Caitlyn Dixon and accompanied on the organ by Nick Joslin.
Fee is $55 per chorister.
Caitlyn Dixon
The guest clinician for our inaugural Chorister Camp is Caitlyn Dixon. A Pennsylvania native, Caitlyn Dixon is a church musician, choral conductor, and music educator. She is currently serving as the Minister of Music at Newnan First United Methodist Church in Newnan, Georgia, while also pursuing a D.M.A. in Choral Conducting at The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. At the church, Caitlyn conducts or facilitates a wide variety of choral and handbell ensembles for children and adults alike. She holds a M.M. in Choral Conducting from USM, and a B.M. in Music Education from Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA.
